The Crimean Government and the Federation of International Academies Honor Al Raed as the Most Prominent Social, Charity and Cultural Organization in the Ukraine
Under the auspices of the Crimean Parliament in the south of the Ukraine, and in collaboration with the Federation of International Academies, the White Palace in the city of Yalta hosted on Sunday February 21st 2010 a large celebration to honor the most prominent organizations and personalities in the Ukraine active in the scientific, cultural, social and charity fields amongst others. The celebration was attended by representatives from the governments and scientific and cultural institutions from many countries (such as Germany, Italy and Russia) as well as a number of ministers headed by the Deputy Prime Minister from the Crimea, a region which has a semi autonomous federal government. The celebrations were also attended by representatives from the government in Kiev, as well as prominent personalities in the field of social-charity work, as well as some leading personalities in social, cultural and scientific fields in the Ukraine. Al Raed was represented by Dr.Mohamed Taha Azzam the head of the Federation in the region.
The celebrations included a presentation of the activities and achievements of the guests, both individuals and organizations, and in this context Al Raed presented an audio-video account of the most important events and social charity activities that it periodically organized and participated in, serving the society of the Ukraine at large, and the Muslims in specific (such as sponsoring and caring for orphans, distributing food to the poor, providing help to the schools of the mentally challenged and organizing lectures and seminars for enhancing cultural communication between the segments of society).
At the closing of the celebration Professor Albert Nikita the Head of the Federation of International Academies presented certificates of merit and trophies of the “badge of European merit with honors” to personalities and representatives of organizations and institutions, and he presented Dr.Mohamed Taha Azzam the honorary badge and a certificate of the highest degree in the field of social charity work in the Ukraine.
Dr.Azzam gave a speech thanking all organizers of the celebration, for their interest in honoring those who serve Ukrainian society in all fields, and calling to all individuals and organizations who had been honored to continue their efforts to achieve a bright Ukrainian future, stressing that Al Raed as a Ukrainian organization would always meet – God willing- the expectations of the Ukrainian society and the Muslims of the Ukraine.
In a statement made to the media office of Al Raed Dr.Azzam said that he thanked God for giving them the opportunity to serve Muslims through Al Raed, and for helping them prove that Muslims can reach excellence in their various fields of work. He asked God Almighty to help them serve Ukraine and its Muslims in a way that would be blessed by God.
